Quarter 2 MELCS Writing a close analysis and critical interpretation of the literary text, applying a reading approach and adaptation of these, requires from the learner the ability to identify: representative texts and authors from Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. Compare and contrast the various 21st-century literary genres and their elements, structures, and traditions from across the globe. Produce a creative representation of literary text by applying multimedia and ICT skills. Do self-and or peer assessment of the creative adaptation of a literary text, based on rationalized criteria, prior to presentation.
Identify the common reading approaches that help analyze and interpret a literary text; illustrate tips for producing a comprehensive or close analysis and critical interpretation of literary texts; and produce your literary analysis or critique. Lesson Objectives

involves the detailed reading of texts with the two goals of understandin g the text and learning language features through a deliberate focus on these items. Typically, the text chosen for intensive reading is one that the learners would have difficulty in reading unassisted. Intensive Reading
involves learners reading texts for enjoyment and to develop general reading skills . It can be compared with intensive reading, which means reading in detail with specific learning aims and tasks. A teacher reads a short story with learners but does not set them any tasks except to read and listen. Extensive Reading
