SYMPTOMS:
The new leaves progressively become soft, glabrous and pale green
In thorn varieties, thorns are absent
Auxiliary and lateral buds are stimulated into the growth.
Due to the growth of buds, internodes are shortened.
It looks like bushy appearances.
Phyllodeis very common and plants are sterile.
CONTROL MEASURES
Affected plants should be removedand burnt.
Spraying of Metasystoxbefore the fruit set for controlling the insect
vector population
Spraying of Tetracyclineantibiotic such as Ladermycinsuppress the
symptoms.
