SYMPTOMS:
The new leaves progressively become soft, glabrous and pale green
In thorn varieties, thorns are absent
Auxiliary and lateral buds are stimulated into the growth.
Due to the growth of buds, internodes are shortened.
It looks like bushy appearances.
Phyllodeis very common and plants are sterile.

4. CONTROL MEASURES
Affected plants should be removedand burnt.
Spraying of Metasystoxbefore the fruit set for controlling the insect
vector population
Spraying of Tetracyclineantibiotic such as Ladermycinsuppress the
symptoms.
