What is LiveMinutes ?
LiveMinutes is a free service that lets you organize live web meetings to share and annotate documents with
team members, students, clients, etc. You can use LiveMinutes for internal meetings, training, teaching...
Each time you host a meeting, the minutes are automatically generated for you and are stored in your
account. You can share these minutes with collaborators, students, etc., without them having to sign up to
LiveMinutes.
Hosting a meeting
Start meetings by clicking on the “start sharing” button. This
generates a meeting link you must share to invite people to join
you.
Sharing Documents
To share a document, click on the document icon in the
meeting room lobby (the first thing you see when you open a
room). This opens the document sharing app. You can then
open a document by clicking on "computer" (or on “library”
to open a previously uploaded file). You can share
Powerpoints, PDFs, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets.
You can also share JPEGs, GIFs, and PNGs, but on the
whiteboard.
Inviting People
Invite people to join you in a session by sharing the session link. You'll see the link when generating a new
session from the "start sharing" button or inside the meeting room. There is no limit to how many
participants can join, but we recommend staying under ten participants.

Starting the Audio and Video Chat
Within a meeting, you can use the audio and video chat to
communicate with participants. You can use either computer audio or
Skype for sound, but we recommend using Skype for optimal audio
quality. To start the call, click on the green button with a phone icon.
Follow the steps to set up you webcam and audio.
When you are in a three people meeting or more, the host can
choose who's webcam to show to all other participants by clicking on
the participants' profile pictures in the participant list under the
webcams. It is not possible to show more than one webcam at a time.
Using Skype
To switch to Skype, start by turning on Skype on your computer. Then, click on the
Skype icon in the room lobby. You (assuming you are the host) will be prompted to
enter your skype id and to "switch to Skype mode". Once that's done, all the guests
are prompted to call you. They have a flashy button to click on that opens their Skype
and starts the call. All you have to do (again, assuming you are the host) is wait for
people to call you.
If you are only two in the meeting, you'll just take the incoming call, minimize Skype, and continue working
on LiveMinutes. If you are more than two, it get's a tiny bit more complicated. You need to accept the first
incoming call and add the following ones to the conference call. Skype provides detailed explanation on how
to that at :
http://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1349/How-do-I-add-an-incoming-call-to-a-call-I-am-already-on

Your Library
Every thing you do in the meeting room can be saved and reused later in future sessions. To save objects on
the whiteboard, select them and click on the file menu in the top toolbar buttons (move your mouse to the
top of the whigteboard for the buttons to appear). Click on save selected shapes to save them.
You can save annotations made to a document the same way. Every file uploaded to the room is also saved
to the library.
Guest interaction
You can toggle guest interaction authorization very easily from the
top toolbar. When the "Guest Can Interact" option is set to "off",
guests can not write on the whiteboard or annotate documents, nor
can they navigate from one app to another or open other apps. When the options is set to "on", guests have
they same rights as the host.
Meeting Minutes
After every session, your meeting minutes are automatically generated in HTML format. To preview the
minutes when you are in a meeting room, click on "preview minutes" in the session lobby. Every whiteboard
is converted to a page, as well as uploaded documents.

Frequently Asked Questions for which we have answers :
Why is LiveMinutes free / what's the catch ?
There is no catch. We have plans to monetize the service for businesses but base usage will remain free
forever.
Can I integrate LiveMinutes within my website ?
Yes you can, we have an API (paid) you can use. Contact us for more info.
I hear an echo when I use the audio/video chat, what can I do ?
If you are not using Skype but computer audio, you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO WEAR EARPHONES. Otherwise you
will hear a terrible, horrible echo. If you do not have earphones or made some bizarre vow never to wear
any, click on "no" when you are asked "are you wearing earphones” in the audio/video popup. A "push to
talk" button will appear on the left of the meeting room. Hold that button pressed when you want to talk.
How can I improve the audio quality ?
Computer audio only works well if every participant has a very good bandwidth. If the sound gets choppy or
bad, switch to Skype.
Can I buy you drinks ?
Sure, though that depends on where you live. Part of the team is in San Francisco, the rest is in Paris. If you
live in either of those two towns you can definitely buy us drinks.

Frequently Asked Questions for which we don't have answers
When will you add crazy cool feature X ?
We don't always know, but you can follow us on Twitter if you want to get the latest news of what we are
working on.
How many participants can join a meeting before something goes wrong ?
We've made simulations up to 20 participants and everything still worked, but we do not recommend being
more than 10. Feel free to experiment with more if it knocks you out.
Who would win in a fight between Chuck Norris and Jack Bauer ?
Seriously, we don't know.
