Life Cycle:

Diseases LOIASIS is often asymptomatic. Episodic angioedema and subconjunctival migration of an adult worm can occur. Calabar swelling

Diagnosis Examination of blood samples will allow the identification of microfilariae Identification of adult worms is possible from tissue samples collected during subcutaneous biopsies or worm removal from the eye.
