Q1. STATEMENT: All guilty employees were arrested. Kiran and Charan were among those arrested. CONCLUSION : All employees are guilty. Kiran and Charan were not employees. Kiran and Charan were guilty.
Q2. STATEMENT: Two out of every 10 people suffer from diabetes. CONCLUSION : Eight of the every ten people enjoy diabetes. 20% of population suffers from diabetes on an average.
Q3. STATEMENT: All students in my class are bright. John is not bright. CONCLUSION : Some students are not bright. John must work hard. John is not a student of my class. Those who are not bright are not students.
Q4. STATEMENT: All rich people can travel by air. CONCLUSION : When you travel by air you become rich. All rich people travel only by air. Rich can afford air travel.
Q5. STATEMENT: Processed meat is perishable. All perishable foods are packed in sealed tins. Sealed tins sometimes do not contain processed meat. CONCLUSION : Non-perishable foods are never packed in sealed tins Processed meat is always packed in sealed in. Sealed tins always contain perishable foods.
STATEMENT & ASSUMPTIONS
Q1. STATEMENT: “Private property. Trespasses will be prosecuted” A notice on a plot of land. Assumptions : People are scared of prosecution. The Passerby may read the notice and may not trespass.
Q2. STATEMENT: If it is easy to become an accountant. I don’t want to be an accountant. Assumptions : An individual aspires to be a professional. One desires to achieve a thing which is hard earned.
Q3. STATEMENT: The Government has decided to change the routes of three busses plying between two areas in a city to make them economically viable. Assumptions : These busses may get more passengers on the revised routes. Many people residing on the old routes may not avail bus services.
