LOPERAMIDE

INDICATIONS ANDUSAGEFOR
LOPERAMIDE
Loperamidehydrochloride capsules
are indicated for the control and
symptomatic relief of acute
nonspecific diarrheaand of chronic
diarrheaassociated with
inflammatory bowel disease.
Loperamidehydrochloride capsules
are also indicated for reducing the
volume of discharge from
ileostomies.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Loperamidehydrochloride capsules are
contraindicated in patients with a
known hypersensitivity to Loperamide
hydrochloride or to any of the
excipients.
Loperamidehydrochloride is
contraindicated in patients with
abdominal pain in the absence of
diarrhea.
Loperamidehydrochloride is not
recommended in infants below 24
months of age.
Loperamidehydrochloride should not
be used as the primary therapy for
other diseases.

hives; itching; difficulty breathing;
tightness in the chest; swelling of
the mouth, face, lips, or tongue )
Constipation
