Observations and Limitations Smart city incorporates the basic mundane necessary amenities in a city for better standards on living and in fist view looks like major concentration is on restoration of heritage. Lack of cooperation and coordination between city’s operational networks The lack of vision on how IT management can be effectively imposed to the development of the smart cities. Political instability, Smart cities will not become a reality until there is a political stability. Lack of trust between government and people can impede smart cities development. Lack of a common IS model to ensure end-to-end visibility while managing smart city infrastructure and services
Observations and Limitations Lack of competitiveness among local firms to deal with the challenges emerged in the development of the smart cities High cost of IT training and skills development programme to the IT professionals is a barrier to the smart cities development. Public lacks in understanding the idea of smart city, and its implications on their quality of life. Unbalanced geographical development can hamper the smart cities development Lack of ecological view in pro-environmental behaviour toward consuming energy Rapidly increasing population could be a concern for the smart cities development
Observations and Limitations Lack of cooperation and coordination between city’s operational networks. Lack of more sustainable and more aware city (e.g. direct traffic, notify residents about available parking, reduce gas emissions etc.) means lack of better living conditions and experiences for all Lack of inflow of creative and sharing culture of the people living together in smart cities
