2. What is Magna Carta? And why was it so important? Magna Carta is a document signed by the unsuccessful King John "Lackland" in 1215. 3. Magna Carta in the modern world – Why does it still matters? Magna Carta today is seen as an inspiration for individual freedom and democracy. It contains many concepts of the modern way of thinking about a "good Country". 3 One of the main changes that Magna Carta brought is the obligation to follow a legal process before imprisoning someone this point introduced the principle of the "rule of law ", which was studied and reworked in the following years .  It also arrived  to the  present  in the  modern documents .

4. Magna Carta in the modern world – What documents did it inspire? 4 There are lots of documents that have been inspired in the course of history by Magna Carta. Some of them are very old and no longer valid, but some others are still in effect and are very popular, for example: The Bill of Rights Universal Declaration of Human Rights The British Bill of Rights was written in 1689, and it was   incorporated into British law  in 1791. Magna Carta is not a part of this document , but the idea of both is to create an ambience where everyone is equally free
