Employee Social Options A Mahindra way of enabling communities to RISE.

How It Started? On October 6th, 2005 , on the 60th anniversary of Mahindra and Mahindra. The company took upon this opportunity to acknowledge employees with similar to its own social responsibility outlook  to give back to the society as a team value. Thus, ESOP was coined as a term for programs that would enable employees to participate in the exercise of giving back to society.

ESOP: An Introduction A platform offering employees across Mahindra Group of Companies located throughout the country, a set of social work volunteering options. These options are created by the employees themselves exclusively. Options are created in form of the needs of underprivileged communities in and around their areas of operation. To fund these employee initiatives, each Sector of the Mahindra Group donates 50 % of its CSR budget.

ESOP Architecture The CSR Council comprising of senior managers & business leaders was formed to provide strategic guidance to CSR initiatives and the ESOPS programme. ( President (Group HR, After-Market & Corporate Services) & Member of the Group Executive Board CEOs , COOs, Senior Vice Presidents and Senior Executives from M&M and Group Companies.) The Group CSR Department primarily handles the implementation of the Employee Social Options (ESOPs) program at the Mahindra Group. (ESOPS Leader (Head of Office/plant) ESOPS Champion (Department Heads) ESOPS Implementation Committee ESOPS Volunteer ) The employees are expected to serve up to 2 days towards ESOP in a financial year.
