WHY NATIONAL CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK

integratingKnowledgeofIndia,experientiallearning,artsandcraft,healthandwell-being,sports
andphysicaleducation,vocational,BaglessDaysfromclass6

subjectsinSecondaryClasses,useoftechnology,assessmentreforms,etc.

BOTTOM UP APPROACH AND PAPERLESS
States/UTs are uploading their Position Papers on 25 thematic areas on Tech Platform
These inputs will go into preparation of Position papers at national level, and further
as inputs for NCF
Entire process is paperless: A Tech Platform has been builtto facilitate automation of
the entire process
Tech platform supports preparation of District level consultations, mobile app-based
surveys, and development of position papers by the State Focus Groups in 25
areas/themes
The platform utilizes Machine Learning (ML) for consolidation and summarization of
consultations / opinions.
NSC had set up a MandateGroup for guiding the NCF process focusing on
interconnections among four stages (5+3+3+4); release of document which will be the
precursor for the Curriculum Frameworks.

WIDESPREAD NATIONAL CONSULTATIONS
a.Teachers,schoolprincipals,anganwaditeachers,teachereducators,parents,communitymembers,
students,non-literates,neoliterates,andeducationexperts
b.District-levelconsultationsineverydistrictofthecountry
c.Morethan700State-levelExpertGroupsinStatesandUnionTerritoriesacrosssubjectsandcross
cuttingthemes
d.25National-levelexpertgroupsincludinginternationalexperts
e.Morethanonelakhseventy-fivethousand(1,75,000)inputsarebeingreceivedandthesewillresultin
morethanfifteenthousand(5000)documentstohelpdevelopacomprehensiveNCF.
f.Theinputsbeinggatheredarebeinganalyzedrigorously,todrawthebest,tobeincorporatedinthe
developmentoftheNCFsbytheSteeringCommittee,alongwiththeMandateGroup,andtheNCERT.
g.Arobustandcomprehensivemechanismadoptedusingtechnologytocollectandcollateinputsfrom
allstakeholderstomaketheentireprocessnear-paperless.
