Research Aim Main Objective: Evaluate the application of Sharia principles in fintech lending in Indonesia Focus: Transparency, accountability, compliance with Sharia Research methods: Qualitative analysis, in-depth interviews with fintech players, regulators, and academics
Key Findings Challenges in Implementation: - Public lacks understanding of Sharia-compliant products - Mismatch between regulations and actual practices in the field - Limited product development under current regulations - Insufficient provisions for profit-sharing in fintech products
Maqasid Shariah in Fintech Lending Qasdu as-Shari’ (Intent of the Lawmaker): - Avoiding riba (interest) and gharar (uncertainty) - Ensuring fairness and social justice - Providing non-exploitative financial access Qasdu al-Mukallaf (Intent of the Legal Actor): - Correct intentions in financial transactions - Honesty and transparency in agreements
