Imagine living in a huge castle, with hundreds of servants at your disposal, dressed in luxurious clothes, and wearing jewelry that shines brighter than the stars. That was the life of Marie Antoinette, a princess who became the queen of France.
¿ Who was Marie Antoinette ? Born in Vienna in 1755 as Marie Antoinette Josefa Joan , archduchess of Austria, a country far from France. She was a much-loved princess , but her family sent her to France to marry the future King Louis XVI. I was only 14 years old ! When she arrived in France in 1770, people looked at her with curiosity . She was young , beautiful and very different from the French queens of the past . In 1774 she became queen of France .
A life of luxury and parties …. As queen , Marie Antoinette had a life full of luxuries . She organized incredible parties , with music, dancing , and lots of food . She loved fashion and was always dressed in the finest clothes . But while she lived in the palace enjoying her riches, the French people were going hungry and facing difficulties . She had four children , but only two survive infancy .
The French Revolution In 1789 the french Revolution began , marked by social inequality economic crisis and popular discontent . People were very angry with the king and queen . They believed they were very wasteful and didn't care about them . In addition , France had many economic problems . One day , the people couldn't take it anymore and rebelled .
