Besi atau baja digosokkan searah dengan magnet maka akan menjadi magnet atau memiliki sifat kemagnetan. Setiap kali selesai satu gosokan magnet harus diangkat sedikit menjauh dari bahan yang digunakan untuk membuat magnet.
