HERE IS THE 5 R’S OF MATERIAL OPERATION REUSE REDUCE RECYCLE REDESIGN RECOVER

REDUCE minimize the amount of raw materials used in production. This can be achieved by optimizing product designs use less material without sacrificing functionality.

REUSE use material or products again for the same or different purpose. In a manufacturing setting, this could mean reusing packaging materials like pallets and containers.

RECYCLE convert waste material into new products. This involves collecting, sorting, and processing materials such as paper, plastic, glass, and metal. A recycling plant might turn old plastic bottles into a new plastic products like plastic lumber

RECOVER extract value from waste materials through processes like energy recovery

REDESIGN re-engineer products and processes to be more sustainable. This could involve using more eco-friendly materials, making products easier to disassemble for recycling, or designing products with a longer life span.
