3. In mathematics tricks are important to do calculation faster and easier. In these slides we will show you a trick for fast and easy calculation.

4. 26 x 12 = ??? Trick! Trick!

5. The first thing is to always multiply the 1 of the twelve by the number we are multiplying by ,in the case 26. So 1 × 26=26. Multiply this 26 by 10 giving 260. (Why? We are working with BASES here) Bases are the fundamentals to easy calculations for all multiplication tables. Now multiply the 26 by the 2 of twelve giving 52. Add 260 +52 = 312 26×12=312

6. As we have done in the previous case 53 × 1 = 53 Multiply this 53 by 10 giving 530 . Now we will multiply the 53 by 2 of twelve giving 106. Adding 530 and 106 will be 636 So 53 ×12 = 636

7. We all know that first we have to multiply 42 by 1 which gives us 42 only. Now the next step is to multiply it by 10. 42×10=420 And the last two step is to multiply the number by 2. 42×2= 84 Last step adding 420 + 84 = 502 So 42 × 12 = 502
