We should show respect and honor to the person of Christ. (v 2 - “there came a leper and worshipped Him, saying, Lord” ) Leprosy was a skin disease which would eat away at the flesh. It was viewed in Bible times even worse than we would view AIDS. Many commentators say that the people of those times would associate leprosy as a picture of sin. The people in the crowd were about to learn how no problem is too bad for Jesus. They were also about to learn from the leper, how we are to respond to/handle the power of Jesus. The leper showed respect and honor to Christ. When we approach Christ, do we show Him the respect and honor that He deserves?
