The ISKCON Mayapur temple, located in West Bengal, India, was established in 1970 by A.C.
Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness
(ISKCON). Mayapur, the birthplace of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a 16th-century saint who
propagated the Bhakti movement, is considered a spiritual hub. The area features the grand Temple
of the Vedic Planetarium, designed to be one of the world's largest temples. The surrounding area
includes various temples, educational institutions, and residential facilities, making it a significant
pilgrimage site and a center for spiritual learning and cultural activities.
