Plural Nouns A plural noun refers to more than one person, place, thing, or idea.  Most plural nouns are formed by adding "-s“ "-es” or “- ies " to the base nouns form.

• Most nouns take -s to form their plural. book book s student student s • Nouns ending in - s, -ss, ch ,-x or - sh use -es. bus bus es box box es watch watch es • If the noun ends in a consonant + y, the -y changes to - ies . country countr ies family famil ies
