MELASMA /Chloasma /Mask of pregnancy It is a common skin problem.The condition causes dark,discolored(brown to gray brown) patches on your skin.patches typically occur on face : Cheeks Forehead Bridge of the nose Chin Neck and forearms It doesn’t cause any harm,itch or hurt but you may cause change in person’s appearance. INTRODUCTION SYMPTOMS Irregular,patchy areas of dark color appear on the skin,usually on both sides of the face. CAUSES AND RISK FACTOR It isn’t totally clear what causes melasma. Darker-skinned individuals are more at risk than those with fair skin. Birth control pills. Pregnancy. Hormone therapy can all trigger melasma. Stress and thyroid disease are also thought to be causes of melasma.
