TECHNIQUE OF MEMORIZATION AND ITS TYPES

1. Success in the process of memorization depends much on the methods of learning or memorization adopted by the learner.the choice of a particular method for bringing better results depends upon many factors like the nature of learner ,the learning material and the learning situation.

2. Whole and part method – there are two methods of memorizing a things,for example a poem .one is to read a the poem again and again from the beginning till the end as a whole .In other method the poem is divided into parts and each parts and each part is memorized separately.the whole method is found to be better than the part method in case of short poem,part method is more advantageous if the poem is a larger one . Space and unspaced method – in this method the principle of 'work and rest ‘ is followed .example if one has to memorize a piece of poetry by this method ,he will be advised to go on repeating it after sometime he will be given some rest .

Repetition and practice – an intelligent repetition with full understanding always helps in achieving better results in the process of memorization.the things repeated and practiced frequently are remembered for a longer time in comparison to things which not repeated or practice. 4. Making use of the principle of association – it is always good to follow the principle of association in learning and memorization.always attempts should be made to connect it with one previous learning on the hand with so many realted things on other .

4. 5. Grouping and rhythm – grouping and rhythm also help in remembering the things. For example – telephone no. 567 345 234 can be easily memorized. Similarly rhythm also proves as an aids in learning and memorizing .example – children learns multiplication table in the sing song effectively. The arrangements of material in the form of rhythm. 6. Recitation – After reading a lesson a few times, the student must try to review the whole things without the help of a book .

Utilizing as many senses as possible – things are better learnt and remembered ,when they are presented through more than one sense.attempt should be made to take the help of audio visual aid material and receive impressions through as many senses as possible. 8. Pulling at all together – organizing and ordering information can significantly improve memory . 9. Funnel approch – The funnel approch means learning general concepts before moving moving on to specific details .when we understand the general concepts first ,the details make more sense .
