Definition of Memory Memory is an mental ability to store, retain and recall. The storage of information in the mind is called as Memory.
Types of Memory Mainly 3 Types of memory :- Short Term Memory Long Term Memory Sensory Memory
1) Short Term Memory It is also called as Temporary memory or working Memory. In that information stored in short term memory may last as long as 30 sec. Ex.- Remembering a person’s name shortly after being introduced.
2) Long Term Memory It is also called as Permanent Memory. Here the individual learn and retains the information for a very long period of time. Ex.- First day of school, Facts learn in school such as words and meaning, Knowing how to ride a bike.
3) Sensory Memory It is also called as Immediate memory. In that information is store for few sec. Register memory in 5 sense organs i.e. Eye, Ear, Nose, Skin, Tongue. Ex.- seeing a stop sign, hearing a bird sing, tasting pesto on pizza.
