Ministry of human resource development, formally ministry
of education (Until 25 September 1985), is responsible for
the development of human resources In India. the ministry
is divided into two departments:
1.The department of school education and literacy
2. department of higher education

1.Department of school education and literacy
The department of school education and literacy
Is responsible for development of school education
and literacy in country. It works on “universalization
of education “ and for the cultivation of higher standards
for citizenship among the youth of India.

2. Department of higher education
The department is the responsible for secondary
and post secondary education. the department is
empowered by grant deemed university status to
educational institutions on the advice of the university
grant commission UGC of India .the department of
the higher education takes care of one of the largest
higher education systems of the world after us
and china.

Organization structure
The department is divided in to eight bureaus,
and most of the work of the department is handled
through over 100 autonomous organizations under
these bureaus.

Objectives
The main objectives of the ministry would be:
• Formulating the national policy on education and to
ensure that bit is implemented in letter and spirit.
• Paying attention to disadvantaged groups like poor
females and the minorities.
• Provide financial help in the form of scholarship,
loan and subsidy.
• Encouraging international cooperation in the field
of education.

Sarva siksha abhiyan (SSA), in
English education for all movement
Is an Indian government programme
aimed at the universalization of
elementary education in a time bound
manner, to making free and
compulsory education to children
between the age of 6 to 14. this
Programme was pioneered by former prime minister
Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In english National mission for
Secondary education, is a
centrally sponsored scheme
of MHRD. It was launched in
march 2009.It provides conditions
For an efficient growth,
Development and equity for all.

In English national higher education
Mission is a holistic scheme of develop
-ment for higher education in India
initiated in 2013 by the MHRD aim
is to provide strategic funding to higher
educational institutions throughout the
country. it is provided by central ministry through State
government.

It is the initiative of government of
India launched by former prime
minister dr. Manmohan singh on

sep 2009 to create a literate
Society through a variety of teaching
learning programmes for literare
and non-literate of 15 and above.
Its aim to recast national literacy
mission to focus on literacy of women.

It is started by government of India
in 1988. its aim is to educate 15 to 35.
It means not only how to read, write
and count but also helping people .

Saksham is a scholarship for
differently abled children by
AICTE, ministry of human resource
department that aims to award
1000 scholarships per annum to
differently abled students To pursue
technical education based on merit
in the qualifying examination to
pursue technical education. the
scholarship amount under the scheme is rs.30000 or tuition
Fees and 2000 per month for contingency allowance for
10 months. this scholarships for those differently abled
student whose family incomes less than 6 lakhs per annum.

The midday meal scheme is
A school meal programme of
the government of India designed
to improve the nutritional status of
school age children. this programme
Supplies free lunches on working
days for children in primary and
upper primary classes. It is the largest
this kind of programme in the world.
