Mockup Task

The Masthead – The name, font and design of the section. Emotive, powerful imagery that you're drawn to. Taken on location Inlaid caption, matter-of-fact and not emotive Made for middle-class as it's a less-known celebrity OFF-LEAD Constant border Byline Drop-cap Pull-quote

Makes you question cause like?? Cows are pretty chill???? No?? The use of 'Thousands' first draws attention, as it's a large number and causes readers to give it interest. Pun creates humorous twist The image includes Kamala Harris, who is at the forefront of a lot of current media. Her making a physically recognisably negative symbol interests the reader as politicians tend to steer opinions. Also, many/most guardian readers are left-wing situated, therefore aligning with Kamala's views. Red has dangerous connotations. Eyeline also creates negativity to the left headline Interests as it is political talk mixed with death, rather than common spats between politicians

'lesser-known' celebrity appeals to upper-class. Green creates a startling change from the blue/white scheme, and draws attention to the title. The white name header tells the reader who it is, in the event they are more familiar with him. Bold, with harsh language of 'raid' and 'kills'. The Guardian, typically left-wing, mentioning Tories creates animosity. Large names in politics and warfare. Not a direct quote, simply a general expression of what was said. Left-wing ideologies paint Starmer in a positive light as many guardian readers support his party. It creates a fondness for Starmer for 'standing up' for the cause, This quote stands out against the white, and the shape tells the reader what it is without reading it. Article only for certain niches. Out of this world epicness Very shocking because like fast food innit but also people who don’t agree with fast food may find this interesting and flip.

'upper-class' appeal – sporting events Secondary but interesting. High-profile politician relations catch eyes of readers Equal paragraphs Blue stands out from white as it's in a corner. Language uses a dark mix of 'deadly', 'soldiers', and 'drug cartels' along with 'children' to create alarm and a fearful image in the mind. Sigma Uses faces from various media. Uses sibilance of ' S ad, Ri s e and S igma' 'Implausible' and 'giveaway' creates an image of pointlessness, and makes the act seem unforgivable. 'accuses' negative connotations. 'Conservative Manifesto' references the popular book in a negative light. Popular face of politics. Creates interest.

Showing final scores Drop cap Quite powerful image considering the team loss – Creates a warm, familial feel to it due to the circle. Being all one colour , the reader's eyes are drawn to the centre writing, and then to the player sitting down. Readers become curious, wondering why she is sat. Shock from 'harmed' and 'babies' in the same sentence, especially with a number figure in there. Creates a vaguely argumentative tone, Demanding. 'want' and 'inquiry' Alliteration of 'P's, but creates a positive/negative reflection.

The pink text creates a warm tone, attaching to the 'warming' part. 'feast' being visible creates want for food and hunger. Darker colours create a mourning, sadder feel 'call', 'risks', and 'anger' all promote negativity and therefore catch the reader's eye, along with a named large number like 'billions'. 'faces' and 'starvation' create a sense of dire need. 'immediate' and 'threat' create a sense of urgency and work as a call-to-action. Strange-style image sticks out to reader. Orange connotating warmth, along with using 'hot' as a descriptor for their popularity working as an almost-pun. Bright yellow draws attention. best show ever. Announcing milestone of popular media, creates excitement in readers.

My attempt!

Focus headline is dramatic and a forefront of political word especially at current times. Many young adults are now progressing into political opinions, and are beginning to develop stronger stands on events. The words 'intensifies', 'assault', 'fears' and ' seige ' create fear and alarmin the reader. Red box stands out as comparison to the white and black. Red connotates urgency, danger and alarm. Appeals to younger generation as many of the targeted readers are preparing or in university, so this is an important topic for them. Popular TV show controversy – interests readers. 'Revealed' creates a 'hot-off-the-press' feel, like the reader HAS to know. Many in younger generations align with the idea of 'rewriting' previous sterotypes , and the idea of being lead by older generations, so this appeals 'gold' creates an idea of richness and quality. 'Emerging' creates a feel of freshness, and the band being 'new', so people are engaged. Insanely popular pop-artist/celebrity creates interest as she is at the forefront of many music faces at the moment. People are interested in her, so spotting her on the front cover in large image make the reader want to pick it up and read. 'victory' creates the image of the music industry being a war. The pun of her song makes a comedic twist on this.
