3. INTRODUCTION Mpox previously known as monkey pox is a viral illness caused by monkey pox virus (MPXV) species of the germs orthopoxvirus . It is caused by MPXV The virus is an enveloped double stranded DNA of the orthopoxvirus genus in the P oxviridae family Other members of the family include V ariola , c owpox, vaccinia , camelpox , buffalopox , horsepox , feline Cowpox among others
