Statement Introduction
This Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement has been prepared as a response to Section 54 (2) of the
Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Hilsecco have published this statement to assure confidence throughout our supply chains. Our international reach
means Hilsecco take total consideration to a safe and responsible supply chain. We have adopted processes and
procedures so that we remain Low risk and can assure that all Hilsecco staff and affiliates work within an ethical and
considerate organisation.
Hilsecco are committed to a fair, equal and safe employment structure. There are a number of different controls in
place to ensure that we act sufficiently to the threat of modern slavery, thus assisting the organisation to ensure that
modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

When working with Hilsecco; employees, affiliates and suppliers have to adhere to standards set out to prevent
modern slavery. Hilsecco trains their employees to be aware of the signs of modern slavery and teach due diligence
to reinforce our policies.

Hilsecco fully complies with the requirements set out by the Modern Slavery Act 2015; this means that not only are
we a diligent and responsible corporation – but additionally, transparent and fair. We have confidence that our
unique approach will not only assist combat modern slavery, but give employees and affiliates a reassuring hand as
they have the chance to voice their concerns anonymously by means of using an internal telephone number. We
strongly believe that this could be the solution to Hilsecco staff members who may directly be affected who may;
without such well thought systems in place, fear reprisal for asking for help/reporting a concern.
Business/organisational structure
Hilsecco is a direct supplier of professional janitorial and cleaning equipment and chemicals. Hilsecco serve a
diverse range of industries, we, more often than not provision our products to specialist customers. It is also a
possibility that consumer retailers have a consumer grade chemical product made for them and fully branded with
the retailer’s label. In short Hilsecco are a business to business serving organisation, with the provision for a
consumer grade custom line to be made under the Hilton Corporation. We feel the need to stress; Hilsecco
Formulas are aimed at the commercial market and are strictly for Commercial, Professional & Institutional use.
These are often made to an even higher standard than most of their commercial counterparts.

The company is arranged into different parts
I. Hilsecco – Professional Cleaning Systems
II. Hilton MCC – Product formula specialists
III. Hilton MCC – Product design specialists exclusively to Hilsecco
Corporate Supply Chain
Wherever possible the goods supplied are manufactured in the same country they are sold in. Hilsecco chemicals
are manufactured in the UK, but some equipment and machine parts may be made internationally. Hilsecco monitor
quality very seriously and this means using reputable suppliers like ourselves; who take modern slavery seriously.
The above applies to the UK; some UK Hilsecco chemicals may be exported out of the UK to different locations.
Working as a Hilsecco employee through an employment agency
As with any Hilsecco Procurement operation of any sort, the supplier is selected as a main target supplier. This
means that Hilsecco have a list of suppliers and companies to provision services and products to the company and
once one is found they often stay for the lifecycle of their company.
Hilsecco temporary staffing agencies are required to take the necessary checks to verify that modern slavery is not
taking place within their organisation; furthermore the staffing agency must demonstrate ongoing compliance
against modern slavery.
All Hilsecco checks are compliant with the standards set out in the legislation and agency workers receive an
induction where they are informed of key practices within Hilsecco. Agency workers are made aware that they
should use the anonymous telephone number if they suspect that there may be a concern. The use of the phone

number is always confidential and the service is also operated with upmost care to ensure that the service is and
remains compliant.
If an employment agency who is working with Hilsecco is found to be incompliant, the relationship is immediately
terminated and any major concerns will be passed onto authorities.
On-boarding Requirements and Checks
Working closely with our outsourced HR provider, Hilsecco knows that we will stay at the forefront of legislation as it
is the sole expertise of that provider.
This assurance is directly reflected onto all Hilsecco employees. We know that we can create a safer workspace
and a safer world.
All prospect clients are advised at the time of the application that they must be eligible to work in the UK. When a
candidate is selected, Hilsecco then perform all necessary checks on the employee. It is impossible for a person to
commence work with Hilsecco should they be unable to satisfy our requirements, and as normal concerns raised will
be dealt with close compliance to the Act.
Requirements for Employment Agencies
Hilsecco only use suppliers with a good reputation. It is always the case that Hilsecco tend to use large corporations
for their supplier agreements. Where this cannot be avoided, checks are taken as above, to verify strong compliance
with Hilsecco internal standards and the Modern Slavery Act 2015. In general, and from the words inferred from the
legislation, larger companies work better with Hilsecco as they continually demonstrate extended care and
compliance.
Ongoing Prevention of Modern Slavery within Hilsecco Supply Chains.
With reference to the “Hilsecco Responsible Partners” Document;
Our Hilsecco Partners (Hilsecco Supply Chain - people and companies) receive the “Hilsecco Responsible
Partners” document. This has detailed guidance and requirements so we can all embrace working together, better.
The ILO or Internal Labour Organisation enhances social protection throughout employment and the “Hilsecco
Responsible Partners” document has been published with the guidance or the ILO in mind. The ETI or Ethical
Trading Initiative is a responsive and pragmatic organisation what offer companies like Hilsecco compliance
assurance and help reinforce a safe environment, free of Modern Slavery. Both of the above organisations not only
assist us to monitor and identify areas of concern but give our employees, affiliates, partners and customer
confidence.
Existing suppliers are aware that they are checked more than once thus helping Hilsecco maintain compliance and
total transparency within our supply chains.
When a Hilsecco employee undergoes training, they are made aware of modern slavery and that training is supplied
by our outsourced Human Resources team to further ensure that up to date comprehensive training is provided.
Hilsecco Human Resources and Employee policy
Hilsecco operate a Whistle Blowing Policy that is strongly reinforced by our confidential telephone number; before
we continue that this telephone number is to strengthen policies already in place and we make clear the following
points
I. There is more than one way to report a concern and you do not have to use the confidential telephone
number.
II. You should not use the telephone number if you feel doing so may put you in danger, for example; you
believe that you are likely to be overheard by someone that could put you or others in a dangerous situation.
Instead leave the room and redial the number from a mobile telephone or a different landline type telephone
whichever is safe to do so
III. The Hilsecco confidential telephone number is not a police or 999 replacement and calls with immediate
threat to life should be reported directly to the emergency police number – 999
IV. You will not be reprimanded in any way for using the telephone number if you suspect there may be a
concern, in fact we encourage people to do so and educate them with a ‘better safe than sorry’ approach.
We also assure everyone that concerns reported are investigated thoroughly and safely with careful adherence to
the legislation.
Hilsecco Compliance – Staff Training and Support
On joining Hilsecco, employees of the company are recruited and given the following training/support material
All below are mandatory:
I. Hilsecco Safety Manual Handbook
II. Hilsecco online training – Provided by HR covering modern slavery
III. Hilsecco Employee Handbook

Hilsecco Employees are made aware that they can ask for refresher courses at any point if they feel that it would be
advantageous or they require clarification.
Scheduled Compliance
We believe we are Low Risk Company in regards to modern slavery. We mentioned that existing suppliers are
audited. Auditing takes place in no specific order but at the period of every 12 months for existing suppliers.
For new suppliers, compliance must be obtained right away.
Everyone is required to do there bit, for Hilsecco, our Human Resources team as well as our legal team have shared
responsibility to do their bit to combat modern slavery and assist Hilsecco in its mission to do so.
Internal processes and due diligence
Hilsecco use internal processes and procedures which we find essential to forming a comprehensive and reliable
solution against modern slavery:
The main aims of our policies work to;
 Protect whistleblowers
 Continually monitor potential risk areas in UK and foreign Hilsecco supply chains
 Diminish the risk of modern slavery in Hilsecco supply chains
 Diminish the risk of human trafficking in Hilsecco supply chains
 Assess and identify risks whilst continually checking up on current processes ensuring they still form an
adequate solution against modern slavery and human trafficking.
New Supplier Registration Checks Through Initial Independent Assessment
Independent assessment can now be filled in by the supplier. The form needs to be completed within 12 months of
becoming a Hilsecco supplier.
Hilsecco can also check on behalf of the supplier if preferred and as always, we ask that a supplier give full co-
operation with these checks to do business with Hilsecco.
Procurement:
This has been identified as a risk department; all procurement employees are trained to spot modern slavery and
carry out all Hilsecco checks.
Every 12 months – training is offered again on modern slavery through our outsourced HR team.
