OBJECTIVES OF ENVIRONMENTAL

Creatingtheawarenessaboutenvironmentalproblemsinthestudents.
Givingbasicknowledgeabouttheenvironmentanditsrelated

SCOPE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
Scopeoftheenvironmentalstudiesisbroadbasedandit
encompassesalargenoofareasandaspectsbroadlylisted
below.
1.Naturalresources–theirconservationandmanagement
2.Ecologyandbiodiversity
3.Environmentalpollutionandcontrol
4.Socialissuesinrelationtodevelopmentand

NEED FOR PUBLIC AWARENESS
Environmentalpollutioniseffectingonplant,animalsand
humanlife.Thesoil,minerals,water,fuel,plantsand
animalresourcesarebeingdepletedandclimaticchanges,
desertificationandfloodsarebecomingdrastic.
Moreover,thehumanpopulationisgrowingfasterthan
everandcreatingmorepressureontheenvironment.
Moreoftheenvironmentalproblemsareglobalinnature
thereforeeverycitizenoftheworldneedstobeawareand
activelyparticipateinprotectinginprotectingglobal
environmentforparticipation,publicawarenessis
essential.

OBJECTIVES OF PUBLIC AWARENESS
Itcanbeintroducedasacourseinschoolandcolleges.It
isthemostsuccessfulmethodofpropagating
environmentalawareness.

THROGH MASS MEDIA
Massmediaasnewspapers,magazines,radios,tvetc.,

regardingenvironmentalproblemsandissues.
Throughorganizingseminarsandconferences,organizing
meetingseminars,andconferencesatvariouslevelshelp
inspreadingenvironmentalinformationtogeneralpublic.
Awarenesscanalsobespreadbyorganizingvarious
competitionsonenvironmentalproblems,non
conventionalenergysourcesetc.,suchcompetitionsmay
alsohelpindisseminatinginformationregardingvarious
environmentalissues.

ENTERTAINMENT
Environmentalawarenesscanalsobepropagatingthrough
folksongs,streetplays,documentariesetc.,
