What is the UN? The United Nations (UN) is an international organisation made up of most independent countries in the world .whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law , international security ,economic development, social progress , h uman rights and achievement of world peace. The UN was founded in 1945 after world war II to replace the League of Nations, to stop war between countries and to provide a platform for dialogue . It contains multiple subsidiary organizations to carry out its missions.
Important Organs of the United Nations There are Six major organs of the UNO. 1-A General Assembly The General Assembly is the main deliberative organ of the United Nations. It is composed of representatives from all Member States, each of which has one vote.
2- Security Council Under the Charter, the Security Council has primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security. It has 15 Members, and each Member has one vote. Under the Charter, all Member States are obligated to comply with Council decisions. Permanent Member in Security Council -China, France, Russia United Kingdom ,United States
3-Economic and Social Council A founding UN Charter body established in 1946, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is the place where the world’s economic, social and environmental challenges are discussed and debated, and policy recommendations issued.
4- Trusteeship Council The Trusteeship Council was established to provide international supervision for 11 Trust Territories and to make sure that adequate steps were taken to prepare the Territories for self-government or independence.
5-International Court of Justice The International Court of Justice is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations. The Court is charged with settling legal disputes between States and giving advisory opinions to the United Nations and its specialized agencies.
6- Secretariat The UN Secretariat, consisting of staff representing all nationalities working in duty stations all over the world, carries out the day to day work of the Organization. The Secretariat services the other principal organs of the United Nations and administers the programmes and policies established by them.
What is MUN ? Model United Nations is an academic Simulation of the United Nations . That aims to educate participants about civics, current events, IR(International Relations ) and diplomacy . Students from teams are assigned the research a country , take on roles as diplomats , investigate international issues debate and develop solutions to world problems.

S ession F low 1- Roll call Announce each country’s name and receive an answer of present or present and voting. 2- Set the Agenda The chairperson will entertain the motions to open and close the speaker’s list. The chairperson may set time limits on speeches or may entertain a motion from the 3-Committee to set time limit on speeches The chairperson will entertain motion to set the agenda. 4-Debates 1-Formal debates Based on the speaker’s list Draft resolution may be discussed Amendments may be presented 2-Informal debate A motion for moderated caucus A motion for un moderated caucus
