2. Muscles of the Tongue Musculature of Tongue consists of Extrinsic and Intrinsic Muscles. Each Half of the Tongue contains Four Intrinsic and Four Extrinsic Muscles.

3. Intrinsic Muscles Intrinsic Muscles are Within the Tongue and Have No Attachment Outside the Tongue. Intrinsic Muscles Change the Shape of Tongue.

4. Extrinsic Muscles Extrinsic Muscles take Origin from Structures Outside the Tongue and Enter the Tongue to be Inserted in it. Extrinsic Muscles move the Tongue and Alter its Shape.
