What
An example of when I displayed resilience was when I was assigned a unit as a
hospital volunteer and took on different roles that what I anticipated. My
supervisor was on maternity leave for the duration of my rotation, so I was placed
at the nurses station to aid them with tasks as needed. The difficulty I had in this
role was the ambiguity when I came for my shifts and feelings of being a burden to
the staff by not having designated tasks. Rather than continue these negative
thoughts, I came up with a new strategy to be of help by reducing the staff s
workloads or prepping paperwork in advance to allow them more time to focus on
the patients. Additionally, I sought feedback on areas I could improve on to not only
help the unit staff, but also patients and their visitors. These tactics are similar to
what we discussed in class pertaining to developing our growth mindset. By
enforcing these strategies, I was able to contribute to a more positive and rewarding
atmosphere during my shifts with everyone I met.
From a different outcome, an instance I did not display resilience was during my time
as an executive member for a student club in helping facilitate camaraderie amongst
the team. As one of the external executives, I observed frustration and conflict of
interests that resulted in a negative perception between some team members and
targeted outcomes for meetings. What I failed to do in these instances was to take
initiative in establishing feedback channels that would promote efficient

48 Shades of Brown by Nick Earls is a novel that follows Dan Bancroft, the main
protagonist, and his troubling experiences as he goes through his final year of school.
Dan is thrown into a world of unfamiliarity, where he makes many comical and
embarrassing decisions. This novel expresses the theme of having or not having
control subtly through the choices Dan makes, and their consequences. This theme is
also successfully revealed through the four elements; characters, plot, motifs and
setting. The relationships between the characters are vital to providing an insight into
the theme.
In the beginning of the novel 48 Shades of Brown , the theme of having or not
having control is effectively demonstrated through the characters. When Dan is
faced with the issue of living in a share house during his final year of school, he

Now firmly into his third season as a head coach in the NHL, Bill Peters, coach of
the Carolina Hurricanes, has a lot of work in front of him to get this team into post
season contention. Through his first two years with the organization, Peters is still

That is the question that Chan, Wu, Liang, and Yan (2015) posed. They performed
a pretest/posttest designed experiment, where they had 26 young adults, and 22
older adults, take a n back memory test both spatial and numerical, and a finger
sequence test, and then had them either practiced an adaptive spatial n back test,
or a non adaptive n back test for a control. They wanted to see if this could improve
any of the three types of test they were looking at. They found that they could
improve not only the performance of the trained n back test, but also the one that
wasn t trained for, and the finger sequence task as well, the non adaptive training did
not provide these results, confirming that is was not just a measure of more exposure
to the test. It also showed that younger adults not only started out better, but improve

to be on the rise. Since 2011, eleven percent of children ranging from ages four to
seventeen were diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactive disorder (Children with
ADHD et. Al. 2016). Attention deficit hyperactive disorder is a difficult disorder to
diagnosis, but once the disorder is diagnosed there are ways to manage it. There are
many different types of treatments that one can do to improve their disorder. A few
of which include, short acting medicine, extended release medicine, and essential
oils. Diagnosing One with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder The process for
diagnosing one with attention deficit hyperactive disorder is quite complicated. To
diagnosis someone, the process requires different factors and groups of people. When
one suspects that a child has this disorder, it is recommended that a system of
contacts be put together with school and other personnel to observe the child
(Wolraich et. Al. 2011). There are a few characteristics that someone with attention
deficit hyperactive disorder typically have. Those qualities include, a persistent
pattern of impulsivity, inattention, and hyperactivity as well as difficulty staying on
task, and difficultly staying organized that affects development and functioning

Oftentimes, when thinking of important battles of the infamous civil war your mind
will automatically go to the well known Battle Of Gettysburg. While that was an
extremely important battle that played a significant part in the Civil war, there are
lesser know battle that are equally, if not more, important to the war that divided the
United States of America. One of these battles was the first Battle at Bull Run. In this
paper I will explain when and why it happened. And also, how this battle influenced
and shaped the outcome of the Civil War.
Three months into the Civil War things were starting off pretty slow. There had only
been small battle and not much effort put in from either side. Neither the Confederate
Army nor the Union Army had put much training into their troops. And with
significant pressure from the North about lack of effort, Abraham Lincoln decided
that he had to do something to stay in the favor of the North, and to quickly bring
this war to a stop. The pressure was on for him, it was not in the plan for this war
to last long and many of the Union soldiers had 90 day contracts that were set to
expire soon. It very well may have been is last chance to strike before he lost his
great Army force. Lincoln s strategy was to stop Confederate forces near Manassas,
Virginia, deal a devastating blow, and quickly march on Richmond, the Confederate
