The novel The Bell Jar written by Sylvia Plath and the film Me Before You directed
by Thea Sharrock both explore the idea of isolation. Both the author and director use
various techniques in their texts to position the audience to understand that isolation

such as symbolism, motif, imagery, simile and visual and literary techniques allow

breakdowns as during these periods she did not want to get out of bed as the air of
the bell jarwadded around her. She would be sitting alienated under the same glass

Esther can view the world, her perspective is distorted as the glass jar prevents her
from realistically perceiving life and the society [VB2] around her. Ultimately, this
begins to cause Esther s mental stability to diminish as she feels as though she does
not belong in the world. Positioning the audience to understand that Esther has
struggled to find herself through her battle and therefore becomes paralysed within
her body. Plath further conveys this message as Esther felt that the world itself is the
bad dream illustrating to the audience that she is living in a constant nightmare of her

people argue that outsourcing is not as cheap as it seems and it may be not as
pleasing to the customers as assumed by many people. One of the disadvantages of
outsourcing that is often overlooked is the effect that outsourcing has on internal
employees. Outsourcing may cause employees to believe that they are not
qualified enough to perform certain task and this may let them lose confidence in
their work and therefore lower their quality of work. Another issue that is often not
considered by companies is the number of people that work internally that will lose
their jobs. Even though companies are interested in profit, sometimes the cost of
