IDA NADI ( Chandra Swar ) Ida nadi is Known for its feminine and cool energy, it starts at the Muladhara ( base chakra ) and ends at the left nostril. It is also associated with the energy of the moon. Ida nadi is situated at the left side of the spine. Ida nadi is completely related to our quality of emotion, introversion, associated with creative side of the brain and left side of the body.
Ida nadi controls all mental processes as it transports prana to the nervous system, which calms the mind and relaxes the body. White color represents the vibrational quality of Ida nadi. And at the same time it is considered as Tamsic in nature. Person associated with Ida nadi have nurturing qualities but can’t sustain their life as good yoga practitioner. They may not manifest as either worldly affairs or spiritual development
PINGALA NADI ( Surya Swar ) Pinagla nadi begins at Mooladhar chakra and then it goes along the back side of spine until it intersect with Ida nadi at Ajna chakra. Pingala nadi is situated in right side of the spine. Pingala nadi is related to Type A personalities, lots of creativity, and abundant vitality.
The vibrational quality of P ingala nadi is represented by the color red. It is associated with the Sun and is considered rajasic (dynamic) in nature. T hey may lack the quietude, introspection, and receptivity necessary to yield to the grace of spiritual awakening .
SUSHUMNA NADI Sushumna nadi is primary of 3 main nadi in human body. Sushumna nadi runs along spinal cord from Mooladhar chakra to Sahastrar chakra and in between cross along all the chakra. This nadi is stated between the Ida and Pingala nadi. Sushumna nadi is also called Brahmanadi , or the channel of the Absolute ( Brahman ).
T he prana travels up the S ushumna nadi, it energizes all of the chakras along the way and stimulates dormant segments of the mind that are responsible for higher thought and feeling. Sushumna is, therefore, known as the pathway to salvation or enlightenment. When impurities or blockages exist in the other nadis of the body, prana is not able to flow freely through the Sushumna, leading to mental and physical imbalances.
NADI REALTED TO CHAKRA As we know that Sushumna flows inside the central spinal cord while Ida and Pingala flows at the outer surface of Sushumna. Sushumna passes through all the chakras while Ida crosses at the left and Pingala to the right of the Sushumna. At Swadhisthan chakra 3 nadis come together so to intersect, in which Ida passes to the right and Pingala to the left. Once again these nadis comes together at the Manipur chakra, and and so on. And finally they 3 meet at the pineal gland at Ajna chakra .
