Types of Natural Resources Found In S ikkim FOREST MINERALS AGRICLUTURE

FOREST It is a complex ecosystem composed of Trees and Shrubs It is also known as the storehouses of Plants , Mammals , Birds , insects and Reptiles 81 % of land is cover with forest in Sikkim

Minerals They are valuable natural resources being finite and non-renewable It constitute raw materials for basic industries and are a major resources for development Minerals are naturally formed and have a unique and specific chemical composition They have a crystalline structure

Types of minerals COAL It is a combustible black or brownish-black sedimentary rock occurs at rock strata LIMESTONE It is a sedimentary rock composed primarily of calcium carbonate It commonly forms in clear, warm, shallow marine waters DOLOMITE It is a calcium magnesium carbonate with a chemical composition of CaMg QUARTZ It is a hard mineral consisting of silica, found in igneous and metamorphic rocks and occurring as colourless or white hexagonal prisms
