Awareness about NBA Accreditation Prof. B.Rajakumar , Department of AI & DS

NBA Stands for N ational B oard of A ccreditation NBA is Totally Independent Body which Accreditates programme from Diploma level to Post Graduate level in Engineering and Technology, Management, Architecture, Pharmacy, Hospitality and Mass Communication What is NBA

Institution Vision Statement Lead the transformation of engineering and management learning experience to educate the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs who want to make the world a better place.

Institution Mission Statement To develop the required resources and infrastructure and to establish a conducive ambience for the teaching-learning process . To nurture professional and ethical values in the students and to instil in them a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship . To encourage a desire for higher learning and research in the students and to equip them to face global challenges . To provide opportunities for students to learn job-relevant skills to make them industry ready . To interact with industries and other organisations to facilitate transfer of knowledge and know-how.

CSE Department Vision To produce globally competent, quality computer professionals and to inculcate the spirit of moral values for the cause of development of our nation Mission Establish closer relationship with IT industries and expose the students to the cutting edge technological advancements. Provide impetus and importance to beyond curriculum learning and thereby provide an opportunity for the student community to keep them updated with latest and socially relevant technology To impart interpersonal skills and ethical responsibilities to the students.

What does Accreditation mean ? Accreditation is a formal, independent verification that a program or institution meets established quality standards and is competent to carry out specific conformity assessment tasks. Conformity assessment tasks may include, but are not limited to, testing, inspection, or certification.

Benefits of NBA Accreditation Enhances the reputation of an institution and increases its credibility. Provides a third-party validation of the quality of education offered. Helps institutions to identify areas of strength and weaknesses, leading to improved performance. Facilitates the mobility of students and graduates across different institutions and countries.

Programme Outcomes Programme Outcomes   Describe what the students are expected to know and would be able to do upon the graduation. These relate to the skills, knowledge, and behaviour that students acquire through the programme .

Program Outcomes ( po s ) 1. Engineering Knowledge 2. Problem Analysis 3. Design/ development of solutions 4. Conduct investigations of complex problems 5. Modern tool usage: 6. The Engineer and Society

Program Outcomes ( po s ) … 7 . Environment and sustainability 8. Ethics 9. Individual and team work 10. Communication 11. Project management and finance: 12. Life-long learning

Course Outcomes   D escribe what students are expected to know, and be able to do at the end of each course/subject. While the POs define the departmental outcomes, the COs are more oriented towards the subjects and are mostly defined by the faculties consulting higher authorities. The COs are more like statements that relate to the skills, knowledge, and behaviour the students acquire as they go through a specific course within a program. They collectively contribute to the program outcomes. They are to be mapped to the POs, and not necessarily to a single one.

The PSOs are the statements about what the students should be able to do at the time of graduation . The PSO’s are the programme specific. The PSO’s are written by the department which is offering the programme . PSOs Statements of CSE department Graduates of Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering will have the ability and capability to: PSO1: To apply software engineering principles and practices for developing quality software for scientific and business applications. PSO2: To adapt to emerging Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to innovate ideas and solutions to existing/novel problems. Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

OBE Framework

The RBT is in the cognitive domain. This new taxonomy reflects a more active form of thinking and is perhaps more accurate. The following alphabet is used to denote the knowledge level as per the RBT action Verb: K1 – Remember K2 – Understand K3 – Apply K4 – Analyze K5 – Evaluate K6 – Create Revised Blooms Taxonomy

Internal Assessment, End Semester Exam, Assignment, Lab. Practical Assessment, Programme Exit Survey, Alumni Survey, Employer Survey, Extracurricular Activities (Guest lecture, EDC Cell Activity, NSS Activity, Soft skills Training, Competitive Exams/ Career Guidance, Club Activity / Student Chapter, Inplant Training/ Internships, Industrial Visit, Yoga/ Meditation, Hackathon, Sports Activities, Cultural Activities, Value Added Course). Every CO must be correlated with each PO and appropriate mapping may be selected. Description – CO assessment tools

University Examination/ESE (End Semester Examination ): For University Examination the target is fixed based on the following criteria. Attainment Level 1: 60% students scoring more than 50% marks in the ESE. Attainment Level 2: 70% students scoring more than 50% marks in the ESE. Attainment Level 3: 80% students scoring more than 50% marks in the ESE. Internal Assessment: For Internal Assessment (IA) the target is fixed based on following criteria. Attainment Level 1: 60% students scoring more than 60% marks in the IA. Attainment Level 2: 70% students scoring more than 60% marks in the IA. Attainment Level 3: 80% students scoring more than 60% marks in the IA. Rubrics for Internal and External Assessment

Marks Rubrics for End semester examination Part A 2 Mark * 10 questions = 20 Marks Part B 13 Mark * 5 questions = 65 Marks (Either or t ype question) Part C 15 Mark * 1 question = 15 Marks (Either or type question )
