A LOVELY AUTUMN DAY
In South Africa, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela
is sworn in as the first Black president of
South Africa. In his inaugural address,
Mandela, who spent 27 years of his life as a
political prisoner of the South African
government, declared that “the time for
the healing of the wounds has come.” Two
weeks earlier, more than 22 million South
Africans had turned out to cast ballots in
the country’s first-ever multiracial
parliamentary elections. An overwhelming
majority chose Mandela and his African
National Congress (ANC) party to lead the
country.

SPECTACULAR ARRAY
It was not only a display of pinpoint precision
and military force, but a demonstration of the
military's loyalty to democracy, to a new
government that had been freely and fairly
elected. Only moments before, the highest
generals of the South African defence force
and police. Finally a chevron of Impala chevron
jets left a smoke trail of the back, red, green,
blue a pattern in polic and gold of the new
South African flag.

THE STRUGGLES
From 1948–1994, South African politics was
dominated by Afrikaner nationalism. Racial
segregation and white minority rule known
ocially as apartheid, an Afrikaans word
meaning "separateness", was implemented
in 1948. On 27 April 1994, after decades of
armed struggle, terrorism and
international opposition to apartheid, the
African National Congress (ANC) achieved
victory in the country's first democratic
election. Since then, the African National
Congress has governed South Africa, in an
alliance with the South African Communist
Party and the Congress of South African
Trade Unions.

THE FIGHTERS FOR THE PEOPLE

TWO MAJOR OBLIGATIONS IN LIFE
In life, A man has two majar obligations. First
towards his family to his parents, to his wife and to
his children. Secondly, towards his country people
and the community Everyone fulfills his duty as per
his inclination and interest but it was very tough to
fulfill do a country like South Africa When Mandela
became adult then he understood that his freedom
was only illusion. Infact he was slave of exploitation.
He the also understood that not only he was a slave
but his other family members also

SOUTH AFRICA AFTER FREEDOM
SINCE THEIR FREEDOM IN 1994 THE SOUTH
AFRICAN COUNTRY HAS ACHIEVED MANY
SUCCESS,INCLUDING GREATER POLITICAL
STABILITY AND GREATER ECONOMIC
FREEDOM.ALL OF THE MAJOR POLITICAL
PARTIES CONTINUE THEIR COMMITMENT
TO DEMOCRACY, AND THERE HASBEEN
MODEST ECONOMIC GROWTH.ALL THESE
COULD NOT BEEN ACHIEVED WITHOUT
NELSON MANDELA
