Nestle- An Introduction The Nestle Group Nestle India Founded in 1866 by Henri Nestlé Nestle India Ltd was incorporated in the year 1956 . Its first production facility was set up in the year 1961 at Moga in Punjab. World’s largest food manufacturer, HQ in Switzerland (Vevey Vaud). The company's head office is located in Gurgaon, Haryana . Employs 3,39,000 people worldwide Employee-strength of over 3000 447 factories in 191 countries 8 manufacturing facilities & 4 branch offices Nestlé has over 2000 brands- products includes coffee, bottled water, milkshakes  and other  beverages, breakfast cereals ,  infant foods, performance and healthcare nutrition, seasonings ,  soups and  sauces, frozen and refrigerated foods, and  pet food. The products offered by Nestlé in India range across categories such as milk and nutrition, chocolates and confectionary, beverages and prepared dishes and cooking aids Ranked No. 64 on the  Fortune Global 500 in 2017 The company is acknowledged amongst India’s ‘ Most Respected Companies ’ and amongst the ‘ Top Wealth Creators of India ’.

Creating Shared Value “For a company to be successful over the long term and create value for shareholders, it must create value for the society at the same time.” In 2006, Nestle became the first organization to adopt Creating Shared Value approach Nestle has focused its Creating shared value efforts in 3 areas- Nutrition, Water & Sanitation, Rural Development.

Major CSR Activities PROJECT AIM IMPACT REGIONS NESTLE HEALTHY KIDS PROGRAM To raise nutrition, health and wellness awareness. Till 2018, 2.8 lakh adolescents have been impacted. Spread across 22 states. PROJECT JAGRITI To improve the health of women, young couples, children and adolescents. It has positively impacted over 4.6 million lives- 1.5 million direct reach and 3.1 million people benefitted indirectly. Bihar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh. CLEAN DRINKING WATER To improve access to clean drinking water in schools and factories. Till year 2018, the Company has constructed over 260 water tanks across 7 states benefitting more than 136,800 students. PROJECT AIM IMPACT REGION SANITATION FACILITIES Providing sanitation facilities for girl students and across all its factories. During 2018, the Company has set up over 550 facilities benefitting more than 182,000 girl students across 14 states. Spread across 14 states. WATER CONSERVATION IN AGRICULTURE Training farmers on practices to reduce agricultural water withdrawal while improving agricultural productivity. Till the year 2018, the protect has covered 101 hectares with 144 farmers. Kabini river basin- Karnataka

Suggestions & Recommendations Reduction of plastic usage Install vending machines wherein you just put in the waste bottles, cans, plastic wrappers and you will receive some reward. Invite ideas from college students through competitions. Encourage employees to give recommendations regarding CSR. Participation in Government programs like- “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.
