CHONOLOGY
INTRODUCTION Major General Shavendra Silva was the commander of one of the thirteen Sri Lanka Army Divisions –the 58th infantry. He was in no position or had no authority, what-so-ever, to issue orders to a completely different branch of the Sri Lankan military, the Sri Lanka Air Force. These are the same old LTTE propaganda tactics that had led to the division within and suspicion among our communities. Spreading misinformation among those in the US who didn’t have access to all the facts on the ground in Sri Lanka was certainly a tactic that got much mileage for the pro-LTTE supporters here during the days of the conflict . While embracing the efforts to build bridges with the Tamil Diaspora members, we must also defeat such nonsense that stands in the way of the reconciliation efforts both here and in Sri Lanka.
AIM T o study and examine about maj general shavendra silva and highlight the leadership qualities of him self.
