8. Why NUMO, Why Now ⇒ The recent IPCC 1.5 degree report reminds us of the urgent need for action. NUMO leverages shared, electric, on-demand and autonomous technologies to put us on a path to emissions-free cities as quickly as possible. ⇒ NUMO is a natural outgrowth of the Shared Mobility Principles (SMPs) and its signatories who are ready to build on the Principles to align actions and investments and achieve transformational change on the ground. ⇒ The alliance is a big tent from the start, taking a movement strategy approach that enables us to amplify and expand current best practices, create synergies among stakeholders, and fill research, pilot, communications and advocacy gaps.
