3 New York is the largest city in the USA and the biggest seaport. It is the business centre of the United States. The population of the city is over 8 million (2021). New York is located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the southeastern part of New York State. The city was founded at the beginning of the 17th century by Dutch colonists. Until 1664 it was called New Amsterdam . 59 years old Bill de Blasio Is the Mayor of the New York since 2014 . 1

There are five districts in the city: Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Richmond. Manhattan is the oldest part of the city. It is the district of business and finance. It is here in Wall Street are many business offices and banks. 4

6 A traveller who visits New York for the first time wonders at the modern architecture and one of these is The Statue of Liberty, which is on Liberty Island, was a present from France. 4

7 The Empire State Building is the tallest building in New York. It is 443 metres high and has 103 floors. Opened in 1931 the  Empire State Building  is the world's the most  famous  office  building and was named "America's Favorite Architecture" 4

The longest street and the biggest shopping district in New York is - Broadway. Even the most of the theatres and cinemas are in Broadway street. There are no trees or flowers only cars. The city that never goes to sleep. 8
