3. The Masthead The masthead is where the brand name (The Guardian), strapline, date, and price will all be found in a newspaper. The strapline The date, price, and an advert for their subscription to the paper.

4. Teasers The teasers are located next to the masthead. They are used to give clues to the viewer as to what else is withing the newspaper. This is done because if the front cover of the newspaper doesn’t seem to interest the reader by viewing the header, lead, and off lead, they then know about 2-3 other stories reported in other pages of the newspaper.

5. The use of Images In this case, the image is related to the offlead , however this is not always the case. This is because the image could be for another story withing the newspaper and will then therefore have written on the image, indicating which page and story the image leads to In this case, the image is highly emotional, which draws the viewers attention to severity of the cause it is talking about. Its purpose is to raise awareness about what is occurring in Gaza which is a very big issue currently. The images usually are suitable for the mood and tone of the article and served a purpose in aiding the story get its meaning across.
