Biodegradable & Non-biodegradable Biodegradable waste is a type of waste, typically originating from plant or animal sources, which may be decomposed by other living organisms. While Wastes that cannot be broken by other living organisms are called non-biodegradable.
Effects of non-biodegradable -Rapid release of methane -Greenhouse gases that may cause global warming -air and water pollution -produce diseases and harmful gases -reduce soil fertility -affect aquatic life and crops
Alternatives -Paper -Wood -Natural fibre clothes -Bio plastic which is plastic made from plants -Potteries
