Ultimately, information into a powerful tool for growth, enabling us to relearn, and expand our perspectives as we move forward on our intellectual path.

creativity

What is creativity? Ability to imagine or invent something new. Creativity may be defined as “the quality of being able to produce original work or ideas in any field.” It is the activity that results in new, novel , and unusual way of viewing or solving a problem. Creative thinking is not a talent it is a skill that be learnt. It empowers people by adding strength to their natural abilities which improves teamwork, productivity and where appropriate profits.

Ways to develop creativity

WHY DO WE CARE? Idea=Performance=Career. Allows us to experience more and appreciate things that are around us. World becomes much interesting. We can solve problems easier and in a fun way.

Three components of creativity Expertise Creative thinking skills Motivation

EXPERTISE This encompasses everything known to a person, irrespective of where it was gained (formal education, practical experience or interaction with others) CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS It encompasses personality characteristics associated with creativity, the ability to use analogies as well as talent to see the familiar in a different light. Development of creative ideas involves intelligence, self-confidence, risk taking and perspectives on problems. MOTIVATION It is the desire to work on something because it’s interesting involving, exciting, satisfying, or personality challenging. This motivational component is what turns creativity potential into actual creative ideas.

FACTORS AFFECTING CREATIVITY

Space and Time: Productivity may increase under pressure but creativity has no positive influence if the undisturbed space & right amount of time is not provided. John Cleese’s talk on creativity states: That having a start & end time to keep your creative space open is essential. Without a dedicated time block, it is easy to leave a creative mindset to focus on trivial matters that are easier to deal with than to take the time to do things that are important. It also takes time to get into your creative mode. He says that you must realize that it will take time to achieve something truly original and creative.

Techniques to enhance creativity Develop a broad and rich knowledge base, as the preparatory phase. Foster independence. Encourage curiosity and the use of analogies. Enhance positive affect. Set aside a special thinking time or thinking place.

Modes of thinking

Convergent thinking Convergence is commonly defined as “the ability to use logical and evaluative thinking to critique and narrow ideas to ones best suited for given situations or set criteria.” It is focused on finding the single, best correct answer to a standard problem in the shortest time.

Divergent thinking Divergent can be defined by the ability to “generate many, or more complex or complicated, ideas from one idea or from simple ideas.” In short, we can say, thinking that produces many ideas or alternatives; a major element in original or creative thought.

conclusion Creativity is the boundless force that transfer us ordinary to extraordinary. It is the spark that transforms ideas into innovation, turning imagination into reality. In its purest form, creativity is not confined by rules or limitations; it flows freely, drawing inspiration from life’s moments of joy, challenge, and mystery. It enriches our minds, connects us to others, and allows us to explore the depths of our own potential. Ultimately, creativity is the art of shaping the world, one inspired thought at a time into something beautiful, meaningful, and unique.
