OBJECTIVES: Identify the difference of Doctors to Quak Doctors. Demonstrate understanding on the nature and dangers of q uakery , and know its types. Demonstrate commitment in practicing how to be a wise individual to avoid quakery . Have courage in spreading true knowledge.

What is Quackery ? "Quackery" refers to the practices of a quack, or fraudulent medical practitioner. It encompasses the promotion of medical schemes, treatments, or products that lack scientific validity, are ineffective , or may even be harmful to those who use them. Quackery often involves making exaggerated claims about the efficacy of certain treatments or products without proper evidence or medical backing. It's important for consumers to be aware of quackery and to seek medical advice from qualified professionals when considering treatments for their health concerns.

Victims of Quackery think that they have made the RIGHT choice . Often, they exhibit the following attitudes:

gULLIBLE They tend to easily believe something printed or broadcasted without verifying the truthfulness of the particular service.

Desperate They are facing an incurable health condition, leaving this their last option.

ISOLATED They become attracted to unconventional methods because they distrust medical science .

BELIEF IN THE SUPERNATURAL They tend to believe in the promising influence of mystical power.

Overconfident They firmly believe that they are more knowledgeable and skilled than scientific researchers or experts.

Types of quackery

MEDICAL It includes cures, treatments, and remedies of various health conditions that are drugless or bloodless in nature. “ALTERNATIVE” practices that are not science-based and have no proven value.

nutrition It involves promotion of food fads and other nutritional practices that claim to be all-natural. These are believed to have beneficial properties of multiple plants in one product.

devices Many people believe that health is purchasable. It makes use of miraculous gadgets that are believed to cure certain illness.
