predicate of a sentence have
to match and agree. (Tressler
and Shelmadine,1951).
It means that the subject of
the sentence matches the
verb describing its action.

NOTE: Subjects and verbs must agree in number.
1. If the subject is singular, the verb must be singular too. If the
subject is plural, the verb must also be plural.
(In present tenses, nouns and verbs form plurals in opposite
ways, nouns ADD an s to the singular form; verbs
REMOVE the s from the singular form.)
