Operation Credible Sport-- The Plane Crash that ended the 2nd Rescue mission

The Executive Officer of my Special Forces A-Team was at Desert One. My team sergeant was chosen for Operation Credible Sport which was to be the second hostage rescue mission. This one relied on a special plane: a C-130 Hercules modified with jet assists to land and take off inside a soccer stadium, On Black Tuesday, 29 October 1980, it's making its last test flight before being declared operational. 3. A second mission is prepared. To prevent the same helicopter problem, it’s decided to employ a modified C-130 cargo plane. Using rocket assists, the plane is designed to land and take off in extremely short distances: inside a soccer stadium, in Tehran. One of the members of my A-Team is chosen to participate in the raid.
