•TRANSACTION MODEL

ARISTOTLE’S MODEL OF COMMUNICATION
•Aristotle's model of communication primarily focuses on the sender
(public speaker, professor, etc.) who passes on their message to the
receiver (the audience). The sender is also the only active member
in this model, whereas the audience is passive.

TRANSACTION MODEL OF COMMUNICATION
•The Transaction Model of communication is defined as an
approach that describes the process by which
communicators create social realities within the contexts of
their cultural, relational, and social surroundings.

SHANNON-WEAVER’S MODEL OF COMMUNICATION
•Shannon weaver model is a model consisting of basic
elements such as a source, encoder, medium, decoder,
receiver, and noise. It describes the way in which
information flows from a sender to a receiver. In contrast,
a transaction is a model which describes both the sender
and the receiver engaging simultaneously.
THE SIX IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THE
SHANNON WEAVER’S
•SENDER
•ENCODER
•DECODER
•RECEIVER
•NOISE

SCHRAMM MODEL OF COMMUNICATION
•Schramm’s model regards communication as a process
between an encoder and a decoder. Most importantly, this
model accounts for how people interpret the message.
Schramm argued that a person’s background, experience,
and knowledge are factors that impact interpretation.

EUGENE WHITE MODEL OF COMMUNICATION
•It is a transactional model that focuses on feedback
between the sender and receiver. The key stages in
White’s model are: thinking, symbolizing, expressing,
transmitting, receiving, decoding, feedbacking, and
monitoring.

BERLO’S MODEL OF COMMUNICATION
•The SMCR model of communication was developed by
David Berloand includes four components: the sender,
message, channel, and the receiver. This model views
communication as the transfer of information. The sender
transforms a thought into a message, or encodes the
message.

HELICAL MODEL OF COMMUNICATION
•Helical model of communication, the process of
communication evolves from the very birth of an individual
and continues till the existing moment. All living entities
start communicating from the very first day of their origin.
