Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled :

01 S E TION 1. T it le -This Act shall be known
as the "Or g anic Agriculture Act of 2010".

2 Sec t i o n 2 . Declaration of Poli c y Republic Act No. 10068 or the Organic Agriculture Act of 2010 declares that it is the policy of the state to promote, propagate, develop further and implement the practice of organic agriculture in the Philippines.

S e c t i o n 3 . Definition of Terms -For purposes of this Act, the following terms s h a l l b e d e f i n e d a s f o l l o w s : a) Organic refers to the particular
farming and processing systems, described
in the standards and not in the classical
chemical sense. The term "organic" is
synonymous in other languages to
"biological" or "ecological".

A C b) Organic agriculture includes all
agricultural systems that promote the
ecologically sound, socially acceptable,
economically viable and technically feasible
production of food and fibers.

Sec t i o n 4 . Coverag e The provisions of
this Act shall apply to the development and
promotion of organic a g r i culture and shall include, but not limited .

Promotion and encouragement of the establishment of facilities, equipment and processing plants that would accelerate the production and commercialization of organic
fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and other appropriate farm inputs, and I mplementation of organic agricultural programs, projects and activities, including the provision and delivery of support serviceswith focus on the farmers and other
stakeholders.

02 S e c t i o n 5 . National Organic Agricultural P ro gram There is hereby established a comprehensive organic agricultural program through the promotion and commercialization of organic farming practices, cultivation and adoption of production and processing methods which have already been developed, or to be developed, continuing research upgrading thereof, the capacity building of farmers and the education of consumers thereon. .

S ecti on 6 . National Organic Agricultur e Board (NOAB ) To carry out the policy and
the program provided in this Act, there is
hereby created a NOAB which shall be the
policy-making body and shall provide
direction and general guidelines for the
implementation of the National Organic
Agricultural Program

Section 10 . The Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Product Standards (BAFPS) of the DA. Section 11 .
