Vadodara is the Third largest city in the Western India. Until the early 1960s Vadodara was considered to be a Cultural and Educational centre. Also called “Sanskari Nagri” Population: 4.1 million (according to the 2010–11 census) Population Growth Rate: 14.38% Area: 7,546 sq. km. VADODARA ADMINISTRATION Vadodara is administered by the  Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan  (VMSS) Some of the regions surrounding the city are administered by the  Vadodara Urban Development Authority  (VUDA) The VMSS was established in July 1950 under the Bombay Provincial Corporation Act, 1949 The city is divided into four zones and 28 wards The City elects 1 member to the Lok Sabha (parliament) and 13 to the Gujarat Vidhan Sabha (Assembly) Zones: 4 Election Wards: 28 Seats (Corporators): 84 Population per ward: 31,122 Seats reserved for women: 26 Total voters: 16,37,575
