Shukra Dhatu is one of the 7 essential dhatu in the body. Etymology :- the word ‘ shukra ’ is derived from the root ‘ shuch ’. Meaning of ‘ Shucha ’ is pure. Dhatu which exist in the body in its purest form, is called as Shukra dhatu. Location of Shukra Dhatu :- As ghee in milk and juice in sugarcane is invisible, in the same way shukra dhatu present in the body.
# Panchabhautika constitution of Shukra Dhatu :- Jala (Ap) mahabhuta is predominantly present in shukra dhatu. Shukra dhatu is Saumya (cool) dhatu. Dhatu formation is continuous process. Shukra dhatu is formed on 30 th day from Ahara -rasa. Shukra is the last most potent of the dhatus in both men and women
Properties of Shukra Dhatu :- Qualities of shukra dhatu – Drava (liquid), guru (heavy), snigdha (unctuous), sheeta (cold), picchila (slimy). Smell of shukra dhatu is like honey. Shukra dhatu is considered to be best among the 7 dhatu.
Properties of Shukra Dhatu :- Consistency of shukra dhatu is liquid ( drava ). Color of shukra dhatu looks like crystalline white. Reproduction ( गर्भोत्पादन ) is the most important function of shukra dhatu. Imbalance causes infertility, weight loss, menstrual deformities.
POINTS TO REMEMBER Location of shukra dhatu – Whole Body. Roots of Shukra dhatu – Testes. Predominant Mahabhuta – Jala Shukra dhatu is last in the subsequent formation of dhatus from ahara -rasa. Hence contains essence of all the other dhatus Functions – Reproduction.
