PACKAGED AC
CENTRALIZED AC
Centralized AC is a type of air conditioning
system that cools and distributes air to
multiple areas or rooms through a
network of ducts.
It works by having a central unit cool the
air, which is then blown into each room
through vents or grilles, and the warm air
is returned to the central unit to be cooled
again.
This type of system is often used in large
buildings, offices, and homes where
multiple rooms need to be cooled.
TYPES OF CENTRALIZED AC
A chiller plant is a centralised cooling
system that cools water to cool
building air using a chiller.
CHILLER PLANT
A centralized air conditioning (AC)
system cools a building using a single
unit, distributing air through ducts
and vents.
CENTRALIZED AC
Packed ac has all its components,
such as the compressor, fan, and coil,
contained in a single unit.
PACKAGED AC
PACKAGED AC
Package ac is a bigger version of the window air conditioner.
It has a higher cooling or heating capacity and is usually able
to cool an entire house or commercial building.
The nominal capacities ranges from 3 tonne to 15 tonne.
It also has 2 units: indoor unit and outdoor unit.
PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONER
COMPONENTS
This self contained unit is assembled in a casing where all the air
conditioning components are housed. They include:
Compressor
Water cooled or air cooled condenser
Electric panel
Thermosatic expansion valve
Air filter
Front panel
Evaporator fan and housing
PACKAGED AC CONDENSER TYPES
The condenser is cooled by water, which flows
through a shell and tube system. The unit is
compact, with all components, including the
compressor and evaporator, in one casing. It's
assembled and charged at the factory, making it
easy to transport and install on site.
Package AC with Water Cooled Condenser Package AC with Air Cooled Condenser
The condenser is cooled by outside air, which is
blown over the coil by a fan. The outdoor unit
contains the compressor, condenser, and expansion
valve, and is usually placed on a terrace or open
area. The cooling unit is separate and connected to
the rooms by ducts.
WORKING OF PACKAGED AC
The evaporator fan suck the air from the room to
be conditioned.
This air is passed through the refrigerant
distribution units
The refrigerant picks up the heat from this air
and cools it.
Now, the air is further cooled by compressing it
with the help of the compressor.
This cool air is distributed to the room and thus
the room is air conditioned.
The condensor of the refrigeration system is
cooled by circulating the water.
ADVANTAGES
Space efficiency : All components in one location, ideal for limited indoor
space.
Energy efficiency : High cooling performance (13 SEER or higher) and
heating performance (80% AFUE or better).
Low initial investment : Carefully matched components for maximum
performance at a low cost.
Quick installation : Preassembled components make installation fast and
easy.
Aesthetics : Package units don't take up indoor space, making them a
great option for homes and businesses.
Safety : Package units are safely installed by certified professionals who
handle technical challenges like gas supply, wiring, and refrigerant lines.
Conclusion
Packaged AC is a self-contained, compact unit that offers a cost-effective
and easy-to-install cooling solution for small to medium-sized spaces, ideal
for single-zone applications.
