Palompon Preparedness "Pagpangandam sa Kalamidad"

The Department of Administration of the municipality of Palompon in coordination with Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Office provide Incentives or Award to give due recognition to barangays who have sown extraordinary performance in equipping and preparing their barangay in an event of Emergencies and Disaster. In line with the mandates stipulated in RA 10121 otherwise known as “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010" states the Adoption of a disaster risk reduction and management approach that is holistic, comprehensive, integrated, and proactive in lessening the socioeconomic and environmental impacts of disasters including climate change, and promote the involvement and participation of all sectors and all stakeholders concerned, at all levels, especially the local community.
With the mandate of DILG Circular No. 2001-17 dated July 24, 2001, Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) which is designed to encourage creativity, innovativeness, efficiency, integrity and productivity in the public service by recognizing and rewarding officials and employees, individually or in groups, for their suggestions, inventions, superior accomplishments and other personal efforts which contribute to the efficiency, economy or other improvements in government operations, or for other extraordinary acts or services in the public interest.
In view of the foregoing, the municipality of Palompon believe and adhere that the Barangay Local Government Units are the foundation for the development of the local communities. This prompted the local government to continuously devise activities that will encourage the barangays to perform their mandated duties and responsibilities with utmost efficiency and diligence and the spirit of volunteerism.
based on performance, innovative ideas and exemplary behavior that likewise give emphasis on the timeliness of giving award or recognition. A total of 150,000.00 was allocated to cover cash awards. Barangays will be clustered as Lowland-Urban, Coastal and Upland Barangays which will received 50,000.00 as the most Disaster Prepared Barangay in their cluster. This will based on the guidelines/rubrics approved by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC).The Barangay preparedness Evaluation will be conducted by the MDRRMC on November 13 – 16, 2018 to identify the awardee’s for each cluster. Finally, awarding ceremony will on November 28, 2018 during Association of Barangay Council (ABC) Night.To strengthen the vertical and horizontal linkages between all the sectors in the municipality thru the awareness of First Aid, Simulation Runs during catastrophes, Water Search and Rescue and High and Low Angle Rescue methods and Fire Safety thru real life guided on scene response.Establish proactive and responsive community as an arm to Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BDRRMC).
